Sewage & Harmful Waste - The DO's & DON'Ts

DO

1.  Stay out of affected areas

2. Call emergency service personnel if the situation

is life-threatening.

3.  Treat all bodily fluids as if they are contaminated.

4.  Avoid all contact with sewage and items contaminated

by sewage.

5.  Wash your hands thoroughly after contact with

contaminated items.

DON’T

1.  Spread contaminated water by walking unnecessarily

on damaged or wet areas.

2.  Turn on the HVAC system if there is a possibility of

spreading contaminated air.

3.  Use household fans to dry the structure and

spread contaminants.

4.  Attempt cleanup of any kind.

5.  Touch or handle items that might be contaminated with bodily fluids
