Bathroom Floor in Rockaway, NJ
This bathroom in Rockaway, NJ was flooded as a result of a faulty supply line. The water was absorbed into the sub floor beneath, as well as the bottom of the drywall and wicked about about four inches.
If the water had been the result of a flushed toilet overflow, this would have been considered a CATEGORY 3 (Black Water) condition. The category is based on the high amount of bacteria in the water. However, since the water came from the supply line, it was considered Category 1 (Clean Water)
Unfortunately, the homeowner did not call SERVPRO of North Morris County until two days after the water intrusion, and the floor had begun to warp and the sub floor was still wet. The floor and baseboard trim were removed so both the sub floor and drywall could be dried out properly.
